The whole north-eastern region used to be known as “Assam”. Before the General Mission Department started work in the present-day Assam, Pastor Pansa Leyri from Nagaland District ministered in some parts of the region and established a church among the Bodo tribe. The Mission Department continued with the ministry and work progressed tremendously. This mission field was established on 15th June, 1997. Now there is a Field Director in Guwahati and 18 workers appointed in this field.

This field was inaugurated on June 15, 1997. Foremost leaders :
