English

Arunachal Pradesh was known to our forefathers as ‘Land of the Abors’. The process of Mission Work in this land is as follows –

Sis. Kenter Doje (Zoramthari), a young girl from Arunachal Pradesh, travelled to Mizoram to visit her father who was serving in the Assam Rifles as a soldier. While she stayed with her father in Serchhip, she received the anointing of the Holy Spirit. She returned to Arunachal Pradesh in 1983 and started ministering however she could in her village, Jelly, and faced a lot of difficulties. Due to her ministry, people started to convert into Christianity. Then, from 1986, she was appointed by the Mission Department. The ministerial work in Arunachal bore fruitful results, and new workers were also appointed. But there was no proper administration yet; it was only in 1996 that Sis. Kenter Doje was appointed as Field Director.

It seems that Christianity is presently having its hold on Arunachal Pradesh. Now we have the Director’s Quarters in the town of Aloo. 16 workers have also been appointed; but they are less considering the area of the state. There are 16 Districts in the state of Arunachal Pradesh but we have been able to enter only 6 districts.
